Vinous in their 92 point write up captures this wine nicely: "A sweet blend of violets and lavender gives way to crushed blackberries and chalk dust lifts from the 2021 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riparosso. It washes across the palate with soft textures and ripe wild berry fruits that are neatly contrasted by sour citrus toward the close. This finishes perfumed and with admirable length, leaving a coating of dusty tannins that tug at the cheeks. Nicely done."

For You If:  You like hearty reds that fill your mouth with rich fruit and then finish fresh and dusty; you're after an all-purpose red to enjoy with and without food.

Not for You If:  You're looking for a wine with lots of cheek-puckering tannis - this is softer and more supple; you prefer reds that stay rich and ripe from front-to-back - this has a nice kick of Italian acidity on the close.
