Malandes Chablis Including Grand Cru and a New Chablis Grape

We’re thrilled that the 2023 1er Cru Chablis from long-time favorite Domaine des Malandes have returned to the shop and know you’ll be equally delighted to taste them this Saturday from noon-4pm.  From the “super-village” (or “baby 1er Cru” if you prefer) Envers de Valmur to Grand Cru Vaudesir 2022, these are classic and classy Chablis Chardonnays you’ll be happy to own – and even happier to drink.

In addition to favorites from our spring shipment, we’ve added the Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey 2023 – and it’s delicious!  And we took a flyer on not just a new wine from Malandes, but for all of Chablis: Voltis. Developed in Champagne and being tested in Burgundy for disease resistance with less spraying, it’s a cross-breeding  of Villaris and a descendant of Muscadinia rotundifolia. It drinks like a soft Albarino, we think, and whether or not it’s the future of Chablis, it’s exciting to have it to try!
