The January 2025 Champagne Club release is a stunner, featuring two brilliant, small production wines at pretty huge savings. Which you can taste for yourself when you join us for the January Champagne Pick-Up Party from 5-7pm on Wednesday, January 15. This month’s selections:
Vilmart & Cie Champagne Brut Premier Cru Grand Cellier NV – From Rilly-la-Montagne, this is explosively scented and beautifully complex. As Wine Spectator says in the 94 point review, “There's a vibrant buoyancy to this graceful Champagne” made from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir from vintages 2021, 2020 and 2019, all fermented and aged in large oak cask (foudre) and given 30 months on the lees.
Christophe Mignon Brut Nature ADN De Meunier Extra Brut 2016 – From the Marne about 13 miles west of Epernay, this is a wine from old vines grown and made in harmony with nature and to the lunar calendar. It’s also wildly precise, clear, minerally, pure and long, none of which you have any right to expect from 100% Pinot Meunier. One of the most breathtaking young Champagnes we’ve tasted in a long while.
The retail value of these two handcrafted Champagnes is $244.98, making this a fine bargain for very fine Champagne! If you’d like to join the Club or just pre-order this month’s release, see the links below. And don’t miss the chance to try both selections from 5-7pm on Wednesday, January 15! |
