As Antonio Galloni said 10 years ago, “Christophe Mignon might very well be the finest grower in Champagne most people have not heard about yet.” Which explains why none of us knew you could make something so precise, pure, finessed and compellingly delicious from Pinot Meunier! This is equal parts vintage 2020/2019 base wine done in tank and disgorged in early 2023 with no dosage. As Galloni's 92 point review says, "Pure and total seduction. Ample, creamy and resonant, the Brut Nature is so expressive. Citrus confit, spice, chamomile and dried herbs caress the palate. More than anything else, I admire the wine's balance and total class. A fabulous introduction to this range from Christophe Mignon."
For You If: You love length and precision in Champagne - this has both in spades; you're after a no-dosage Champagne that drinks with generousity vs ferocity.
Not For You If: You're looking for lots of overt toast/brioche character or a sense of weight/density - this leans to the more mineral side of Champagne flavors and, while broad, is very light on it's feet.
