Organic/Bio Lower ABV A natural crossing of Folle Blanche and Malbec, Jurancon is a traditional grape of Gaillac in the southwest of France. At Philemon, it’s bush-trained in the old style and gives the plush purple black fruit and floral notes the varietal is known for. Bold aromas of lavender, rose water and purple/black berries pull you into a plump, fleshy, wine with the deep fruit supported by a broad mineral streak. Just 12% alcohol but feels richer than that!
For You If: You enjoy wines full of just ripe fruit – like Beaujolais or many Northern Rhone Syrahs – with a bit more plumpness in feel and soft and easy finishes; you’re looking for a terrific and easy weeknight red to enjoy with most any food.
Not For You If: You’re looking for lots of power – this is easy/soft – or New World levels of super-ripe fruit – again, this is easy!
