Organic/Bio Like most Mary Taylor wines, there’s a great story here of an under-appreciated growing region and a crazy dedicated organic farmer/winemaker. Google it – it’s great! Or just pour a big glass of this super gutsy 50/50 Grenache/Syrah blend, take a gulp, and taste the story yourself. Dark blue/black fruit, fleshy texture, juicy, real fruit, acids and a huge, long, blue fruit and floral finish keep you coming back for more. Feels bigger than 13.9% alcohol and could take a chill if you like. Pretty much what the whole Mary Tyalor project is about.
For You If: You love the dark, gutsy, fruit-and-savory, flavors of the southern Rhone/northern Languedoc (this is in between) and aren’t in the mood to be knocked out by 15% alcohol or to fight through medicinal flavors or overly assertive tannins.
Not For You If: You are in the mood to be knocked out by 15% alcohol or to fight through medicinal flavors or overly assertive tannins – hey, sometimes that’s where you’re at!
