Better Austrian Wine Festival With 15 Luxurious Wines

If you’re new to the Chain Bridge Cellars family, you may not yet have caught on to how much we love the vivid, food-friendly, distinctively delicious wines of Austria.  And if have enjoyed the Austrian wines we regularly feature, they you know they can deliver delicious value, too.  As we roll into the holiday season, though, we want to introduce you to the outstanding value and quality Austria gives in more ambitious wines as well.  Join us for our Better Austrian Wine Festival this Sunday and taste for yourself!

From 1-4pm on Sunday, importer and Austrian native Klaus Wittauer, Austrian native Christina Caswell and industry veteran and long-time Austrian wine fan Sandy Dickerson will be pouring 15 pretty darn brilliant Austrian wines.  Wil there be great examples of Austria’s very own Grüner Veltliner?  You bet, including the top GV from our friends at Steininger, high-end Wachau GV, and a pair from the 10 generation and counting mountain wine specialists at Proidl.

And there’s more to Austrian wine than Grüner Veltliner!  Austrian sparkling wines are a treat as you’ll see from examples made of GV and Sauvignon Blanc.  Dry Riesling shines in Austria’s sunny, gravely sites, as you’ll taste in two terrific examples. Austria’s native red grapes St. Laurent and Blaufränkisch are on the table, including the latest release of the red names “Best in Austria” just a few years ago.
