The label is confusing, but this is 100% Columbia Valley fruit that's turned into wine in Paso Robles by Fiction & Field Recordings winemaker Andrew Jones. It's 100% Cabernet aged in a 50/50 blend of new and seasoned French oak and, at just 13.9% alcohol, it's built to drink. Plenty of dark currant and berry fruit with shadings of cassis, cocoa and vanilla. Nicely mouthfilling, the flavors flow easily into a lightly grippy finish ready for steak or sipping.
For You If: You want a good glass of West Coast Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of fruit and spice that won’t weigh you down or require a steak or decant to tame the tannins.
Not For You If: You’re looking for thick or heavy – this is nicely rich but also highly drinkable!
