Always built to show well on the early side, the 2020 Barolo Lecinquevigne benefits from Damilano's plump and nicely fruit-filled house style. As Wine Spectator says in their 94 point review, "Stitched with pure cherry and raspberry fruit, this red is supple and fragrant, showing lovely harmony. Mineral, tar and eucalyptus accents add detail. There's plenty of structure, with vibrant acidity and refined tannins focusing the finish. Elegant, with the potential to develop over the next two decades. Delicious now but will age nicely." Decant it for an hour or two if you can or just let it open in the glass.
For You If: You want classic Barolo aromas and flavors with a bit of extra black cherry fruit and a firm, but not harsh, finish.
Not For You If: You're after smooth or ease - Barolo is always structured and firm, although this is definitely more approachable than most now in its youth.
