The steep slopes and clay-llmestone soils of Monts-Damnes always give some of Sancerre's most mineral and powerful wines and that's certainly the case here. Plenty of lemon and white grapefruit citrus here with notes of crunchy pear and peach and big mineral flavors of chalk and crushed rock. There's impressive density and power here, perfectly balanced by a touch of citrus pith and stony mineral bite on the very long finish. Impressive.
For You If: You like your Sancerre to make an impression while staying fresh and highly drinkable; you're looking for the ultimate pairing with oysters or fresh or aged goat cheese!
Not For You If: You're after something light or "easy" - this has real power and intensity that doesn't demand food, but surely will benefit from it!
