The winery says, “We like to say our approach to Cabernet Franc is more Burgundy than Bordeaux, meaning we look for silky rather than tannic structure and favor the aromatic potential of the grape over the flavor of the barrel.” They deliver here in a wine that’s velvety in feel and loaded with crunchy blackcurrant and cherry fruit with a lovely whiff of fresh herb. Fun to drink with or without food.

For You If:   You like California Cab Franc or like your Virginia Cab Franc to have real density and richness; you’re looking for Cab Franc big enough to enjoy solo or with steaks and burgers.

Not For You If:   You’re after something really thick/heavy or light/juicy – this has excellent density while staying fresh and fun.
