Leo Hillinger is a big personality, a bit glamorous, an innovator and very much an international traveler. If Leo were a wine, he would be this rich, deep and a little bit showy blend of Merlot, Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt from sunny Burgenland. As Peter Moser says in his 94 point review in Falstaff, “Deep dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Some blackberries and currants, a hint of herbs, floral touch, hint of precious wood savouriness. Elegant, fruity-sweet, fine tannin structure, mineral, crisp finish, already very drinkable, versatile.”  Austrian wine to pair with hearty American beef!

For You If:   You like Napa Cabs and want something in that style with just a touch of European zest and flair.

Not For You If:  You’re looking for something delicate or subtle – this is brash and right out there, kind of like Leo!
