Lower ABV Not very closely related to Grüner Veltiner at all, Roter Veltliner is found scattered across Austria where it’s tightly packed bunches and tendency to set heavy crops makes it a tricky grape for fine wine.  But when treated with care – as the Bauers do! – it make a nicely rich feely, spicy, white that pairs nicely with a huge range of foods.  And has enough freshening acids to sip solo, too.
