Unique among wines in the Patricia Green Cellar, this is a barrel selection - vs a single vineyard wine - that's made with extra lees contact and aged in 100% new French oak. In 2021, seven of 15 barrels came from the Estate Vyd, three from Dundee Hills sites, and the rest from Freedom Hill. Mainly Pommard spiced with Wadesnvil and Dijon 115, this has a textural richness - almost plushness - different from anything else the winery makes. Worth tasting now and better from 2025 as the 100% new French oak is absorbed. Very limited.

"A jeweled ruby-purple, the 2021 Pinot Noir Notorious was aged in 100% new French oak and is lush with aromas of kirsch, toasted spices, and cedar, but well-managed oak spice. Full-bodied and exceptionally well-balanced for this ripe, opulent style, it has polished tannins, a silky texture, and a well-managed sensibility. Drink 2024-2037."
