Asili is the most famous vineyard in Barbaresco – in part because of Bruno Giacosa’s brilliant wines – and it’s always one of the most exciting wines in the Produttori line-up. Always my personal favorite, with bold super-ripe strawberry fruit, nice flesh, and powerful but refined tannins. The 2019 is almost too delicious right now, but do try to hold some and let it really open up with time.
