Lower ABV Think of La Combe Verte as the equivalent of a “village” white Burgundy. Although most of the wine comes from sites better thought of as “1er Cru”. The stone fruit core here perfectly balances the vivid acids and toasty almond and spice flavors. Really sails on the palate and finishes very long. The 94-95 point rave reviews will come for what is surely one of the finest Chardonnay values in the USA today.
For You If: You want Chardonnay fruit with a ton of mineralty, vigor, purity and length; you love Meursault and can't afford it any longer; you want to experience the work of what is now considered Oregon's finest Chardonnay winery.
Not For You If: You're looking for rich, easy or round - this is a bit chiseled, athough not at all hard, harsh or sour.
