Organic/Bio Lower ABV I thought the 2021 X Novo the best Willamette Valley Chardonnay I'd ever tasted - then I tried this. "Burgundian" is overused in talking about non-Burgundy Chardonnay, so we'll say "Meursault-ian" instead. As Audrick Frick says in the 97 point Jeb Dunnuck review, "The 2022 Chardonnay X Novo Vineyard pours a bright medium yellow-green hue, and in this vintage, it’s elegant and harmonious, with a ripe perfume of sweet flowers, lilac, candied lemon, and pristine ripe pear fruit. Medium-bodied, it fills out the palate with a more rounded feel and has a lovely texture, just a hint of citrus oils, a delicate almondine, clean feel, and a lovely, long finish with a pretty, delicately toasted feel. Its viscosity frames the wine beautifully, and I know there's high acidity, but it feels so appealing. Drink over the next 10-12 years."
For You If: You love the mineral bite of light reduction and the way vibrant, light and concentrated Chardonnay dances on your palate now and for years to come.
Not For You If: You're looking for a simple quaffer - this will command your attention and deserves to be drunk over hours and years.
