Organic/Bio From high altitude Tempranillo and aged two years in French oak and concrete eggs, this is Tempranillo with delicious refinement, finesse and attitude. As the folks at JamesSuckling.com say in their 93 point review, it’s “Nicely plush nose with some cocoa powder on top of the graphite, blackberries and dark cherries. Tight and fine-grained on the palate with juicy fruit and fine spices. Long, tight and focused.” The length and super-fine tannins are a delight!
For You If: Certainly if you’re grilling or roasting up some beef or lamb, but if you’re in the mood for a really good wine that makes your food taste better and face light up in a smile, it will do that with sausages, burgers or herby lentils.
Not For You If: You’re looking for super-ripe/baked fruit flavors or lots of intrusive oak – the wood is here in the form of subtle spice and grip but it’s an accent, not the star.
