First created and made by Australia’s Chris Ringland, this is an unabashedly flashy and hedonistic bland of Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon done in new French oak. A tad more structured than the 2018, but the 92 point Wine Spectator notes still applies: “A suave and creamy crowd-pleaser, with rich notes of cured tobacco and loamy earth that push through to the palate, accenting crème de cassis, warm brown bread, melted licorice and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and orange peel acidity providing definition throughout.”
