Lower ABV Vincent Boyer is star Meursault winemaker. Emmanuel Lucas de Bar grew up on vineyards in Languedoc and is now Boyer's close friend. This is their partnership, applying Burgundy winemaking to very well-priced fruit from the Herault Valley. Oak aging gives this texture and creaminess without hiding the clear white peach, apple and lemon flavors. The finish belongs on a much more expensive wine: long, flowing, dry. A new find for us and one we're very impressed with!
For You If: You love the flavors of Chardonnay without any obscuring oak or butter - this aged in oak, but doesn't taste like it and delivers lovely fresh fruit with a nicely rich, almost creamy, texture.
Not For You If: You want to taste the flavors of oak and/or buttery malolactic fermentation in your Chard - this has plenty of body and spice, but not those notes.
