Organic/Bio We think of Pomerol as being all about power, but Mazeyres goes the finesse route in 2019. As Vinous says in the 93 point review, “The 2019 Mazeyres is bright, effusive and so inviting. Blood orange, mint, rose petal, white pepper, espresso and incense are some of the many notes that soar from the glass. Mazeyres is not a big or obvious wine. Instead, it is a Pomerol that is all about understatement and class.” Delicious already and going for 15+ years, it’s 80% Merlot and 20% Cab Franc done in a mix of barrique, foudre and amphora. Brilliant stuff.

For You If:   You’re looking for the richness and complexity that make Pomerol the pinnacle of the Right Bank in a more elegant, perfumed, style and ready to enjoy tonight.

Not For You If:   You’re after a wine that’s plump or plummy – this is nicely sleek and pure.
