Organic/Bio This is organically farmed, native yeast fermented, minimally sulfured, old-vine, seriously good stuff. Already complex and perfumed, what's most striking today is the ripe red berry fruit and super fine tannins. Decant for a few hours now if you like and enjoy over the next 15+ years.
For You If: You like perfume, fruit and loads of fine and intense tannin in your young wines; you're willing to wait a few years for the fruit to pull back and more earthy complexity to emerge; you just plain like Barbaresco.
Not For You If: You like your reds smooth - this is very pure and even elegant but marked by Nebbiolo's classic firm acids and generous tannins; you want the darker power of Barolo vs the pure freshness of classic Barbaresco.

"Intoxicating violet soaked with black cherry, a touch of herb, dark, dried cherry with depths of balsam, chocolate and rhubarb. Dense palate, great concentration, firm tannins, dusty yet ripe, with juicy acidity, some tartness of the fruit and a chocolaty finish. Great tension for ageing. Very polished finish despite the muscularity. Extremely classic winemaking if not old fashioned, with higher temperatures of fermentation up to 30-32°C and ageing in large oak for 18-24 months."
