As Wine Advocate has written: "There is genius in these wines from Marisa Cuomo. When you feel so emotionally connected to the beauty of a place, such as the Amalfi Coast, and a wine makes you vividly remember that place even if you are far away, well, that's magic. These wines are impeccably made (with the talented Luigi Moio consulting), and they manage incredible balance with freshness, salinity and soft texture. The vines are planted (many on original rootstock) in pergolas on steep terraces high up on the dolomitic limestone cliffs that overlook the Amalfi Coast."
A great introduction to the estate, this blend of 60% Falanghina and 40% Biancolella done all in tank delivers ripe, round, fleshy textures with a sneaking band of salty minerality and citric acidity providing support and freshness underneath. Aromas and flavors of sliced peach, Meyer lemon, sweet lime and tangy apricot are palate coating and then salted a bit on the lingering, long, gentle finish.
For You If: You love the combination of textural richness and vivid freshness of the very best whites of Campania; you want to try the winecrafting work of a true master; you've been to Amalfi and want to taste something that will bring your memories flooding back.
Not For You If: You're looking for something assertively fruity like Sauvignon Blanc or more mellow and low in fruit like whites from Savoie or Muscadet - this is somewhere in between; you are after an oaky white - this is all steel.
