Blending Virua, Malvasia and Garnacha Blanca and aged 4 months in new French oak, this is a terrific updating of traditional white Rioja. Plenty of texture here along with a lovely sense of freshness. As James Suckling describes it in the 92 point review, "Very fresh with aromas of lemon pith, white grapefruit, crushed shells and slate. Some biscuits and salted yellow plums. Medium-bodied with beautiful minerality and freshness."
For You If: You like the texture, minerality and kiss of oak from a 1st class white Burgundy Chardonnay with a more citrusy, savory, flavor profile.
Not For You If: You're looking for all-steel richness - you can taste the barrel here - or tropical or orchard fruit flavors - this is all citrus and seashells.
