Dandelion winemaker Elena Brooks was walked into the winery after receiving yet another award, she found a crisis going on. She kicked off one high-heel a stuffed her foot into a work boot, but didn’t get the other heel off. “Run, Sister, Run!” her all woman winemaking team cried out between bellows of laughter. Elena created this line of Australian classics to capture that sense of fun. The winegrowing and making is serious enough all Coonawarra fruit and 15 months in French oak. The wine is pure fun, with generous black currant and berry fruit, a hint of mint, and super silky, friendly, tannins. You may just run back to get another!
For You If: You like Australian Cabernet – this is a rock-solid example with Coonawarra’s signature plush texture, black fruit, smooth tannins and minty top-note; you’re looking for Cabernet to enjoy with her-marinated lamb or beef.
Not For You If: You’re after the more super-lush texture of Napa Cabernet; you don’t like anything herbal in your Cab – although it’s really subtle here and we think you’ll like it!
