“Exotic” Cuvée. Likeable, charming nose. Flattering mouth. The perfect companion for your lunches, this summer!” So says the winery and we don’t disagree. The aromas are compelling, more or less pulling your face into the glass and holding it there until you break away to actually drink the stuff – when rich texture and ripe stone fruit are perfectly balanced by a bite of bitter almond, dusty stone and white floral flavors.  Viognier is in the lead for fruit and aroma, 30% Grenache Blanc for body and then Clairette, Marsanne and Roussanne for complexity.  Most anything in a cream/creamy sauce will pair well here, as will cheeses and crisp, leafy, salads with a touch of citrus in the dressing.

For You If:  You like the aromas and flavor of Viognier with a bit more structure and interest than varietal bottlings give; a full-body feel without heaviness or oak appeals; you’re after a substantial-feeling white that brings the feeling of summer sunshine.

Not For You If:  You don’t like the aromas and flavor of Viognier period; you’re after a wine that’s zippy and mouthwateringly acidic; a bit of something dusty on the finish doesn’t work for you.
