Tom Meadowcroft’s purpose for Thomas Henry is pretty direct: “Serious Value.” This delivers. All Chardonnay, no oak, it’s a big mouthful of green melon, juicy pear, crisp apple and fresh citrus zest and just a bit of varietal spice. Nice weight in the middle – no one will call this thin! – is balanced by juicy freshness on the crisp, dry, finish. Easy-drinking and easy on the wallet, too.
For You If: You enjoy the flavors of Chardonnay and wine with plenty of fruit that avoids turning “fruity” or sweet.
Not For You If: You’re looking for lots of butter and oak – pretty much none of that here – or the driving minerality of Chablis – hey, it’s from Sonoma!
