A relatively new winery (first vintage 2014) from a family with 100+ years on Etna, the Tornetore style runs less extracted and powerful than most, but still very delicious! From older vines up the volcano from the winery, this has lovely intensity matched to the winery's signature open and easy style.

"Like a spice box on the nose, the 2019 Etna Rosso Pietrarizzo opens with dried cherries and cloves, complicated by incense, cedar shavings and mint. It washes across the palate like pure silk. A salty core of minerality adds unexpected depth, and tart wild berry fruits slowly saturate. A bitter twang of citrus and sour cranberry defines the youthfully tense finale, as the Pietrarizzo finishes lightly tannic yet welcoming all the same. Patience will be rewarded."
