Rioja can be a lot of things from long-aged and Burgundy-like to plush, lush, and full of fruit. This wine is on the rich, full and generous side, jam-packed with juicy black fruit, sweet spice, a touch of mocha and a tiny hint of tobacco. The mouthfeel – round, velvety, deep – is more Napa Cab than “traditional Rioja,” making this a delightful value to serve with or without food.
