Organic/Bio Lower ABV Ken and Erica are among the leading proponents of Willamette Valley Chardonnay – in fact, a bit more than half their production is now Burgundy’s fine white grape. While most of their volume is in single-vineyard wines, Cuvee Anne is a barrel selection from Freedom Hill, X Novo, Sojourner, Seven Springs and Justice Vineyards designed to represent the essence of Willamette Valley Chard. All of the wine was fermented in a mixture of new and used 500 and 350 liter French oak and aged (with some light battonage) in barrel for 12 months before blending. Flinty, creamy, pure and very, very, long, this is beautiful now and will improve for years.
For You If: You're looking for intensity and generousity, immediate delight and potential improvement, Burgundian structure with a lovely stony feel.
Not For You If: You're after something rich, round and fruit-forward - this has plenty of body and fruit while clearly leading with minerality.
