We're delighted to be welcoming back to the shelves selections from Mary Taylor - possibly the queen of great value, delicious and deeply authentic wines from across Europe. Friday from 3-7pm we'll have four of her just arrived selections open to taste along with the very compelling 2022 Terre Nere Etna Rosso. Worth making it this week!
Mary’s approach is pretty simple. First she travels the side- and back-roads of Europe, focusing on under-appreciated or even forgotten wine regions of excellent potential. Then she looks for real people with real connections and passions for those places and real talent and commitment when it comes to growing great wines.
She works with the producers to select bottlings that express the essence of their vineyards AND deliver enormous drinking pleasure at very, very, good prices. Then she puts a nice, clean, straightforward white label on the bottle so you know where it’s from – the place, and the project. Here's the tasting line-up:
Mary Taylor (Olivier Gessler) Cotes De Gascogne 2023
Mary Taylor (Mittelbrunn) Prieto Picudo Castilla Y Leon 2023
Mary Taylor (Filipe Ferreira) Douro Tinto 2022
Mary Taylor (Anne Sarda) Coteaux de la Cabrerisse 2023
Terre Nere Etna Rosso 2022
With the wines enjoy a nibble or two of authentic La Mancha Manchego aged 1 year to nutty perfection. The tangy sheep's milk and salty bite make this a natural with all kinds of reds - whether from France, Spain or Italy! Come give it and the wines a try. |
