“Gulpable” Chianti Classico isn’t really a thing, but maybe it should be? This blend of 90% Sangiovese plus Merlot and Colorino aged in big Slavonian oak casks would be a fine example. It’s bursting with rich red and Bing cherry fruit accented by notes of cocoa and licorice. There’s enough acidity to play with pizza and pasta, enough tannin for a burger or steak, and enjoy fun to invite solo sipping anytime.

For You If:   You’re after authentic Chianti Classico flavors in a softer, rounder, package that doesn’t demand food or cellar time to enjoy.

Not For You If:   You’re looking for intense, grippy, structure or a dollop of new oak flavor – this has a touch of spice but is definitely not “woody.”
