Franca Miretti took over here after the death of her husband, Renato Vacca, and continues to make some of the most pure and elegant wines in Italy's Piedmont. Including this delicious Dolcetto, a wine that invites casual sipping with salami and cheese and friends. As Vinous says, it's "soft, plummy and easy to like. Black cherry, plum, spice and leather open nicely in this open-knit, inviting Dolcetto from Cantina del Pino."

For You If:   You're looking for Italian style with more black fruit and floral notes than you get from Tuscan Sangiovese; you're thirsty for a wine that stimulates your appetite and easy conversation.

Not For You If:   You're after something with a lot of weight and density - this is more elegant and open than most Dolcetto with a silky, easy, finish.
