Organic/Bio Beaujolais master Jean Paul Brun grows a little Chardonnay in places where limestone dominates over granite and some of that finds its way into the charming fizz. With 18 months on the lees, it’s rich and broad with lots of ripe pear and green apple fruit and savory toasty lees notes. Citrus and chalky minerality come up to give a boost to the ripe yellow apple finish. A great solo sipper and ready to shine with all kinds of food.
For You If: You like the leesy/toasty character of Champagne but want something a little less sharp and more easy-drinking.
Not For You If: You’re after either austerity or sweetness – this is dry, but generous and easy.
