From deep alluvial soils and the very dry, windy, Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide, this is a great example of modern Australian Cabernet. The blend of generous fruit - blackberry and blackcurrant - wild herbs, and cocoa/spice from 18 months in barrel are pretty compelling. Plenty of structure, but still easy to drink and finishing with a wonderful fresh energy, it's a great steak, roast beef and lamb pairing!
For You If: You enjoy classic Cabernet fruit flavors and structure in a wine that fills your mouth but doesn't weigh you down with excessive alcohol or a thick mouthfeel.
Not for You If: You're looking for the classic "minty" profile Australian Cab is known for - this has just a whiff of herb and stays focused on the deep, rich, fruit.
