Organic/Bio Julien Bertrand grows great Beaujolais and then gets it in the bottle with as little fuss as possible. The approach turbocharges everything we hope for in Bojo, giving plump fruit with just-right crunch and bite, a handful of flowers, and enough grip and zip to stay shapely and long. The intensity of 60 year-old vines and fun of whole-cluster, carbonic, maceration, native yeasts, concrete aging, and no sulfur until a touch is added at bottling. Explosively and heroically delicious!
For You If: You like plain, old, honest, no-frills or pretense, clean and juicy, refreshing Beaujolais; you’re into “natural wine” and want that with consistent deliciousness; you’re having pork pot stickers – that’s what we killed a sample bottle with!
Not For You If: You’re after the structure and concentration of Morgon or Moulin-a-Vent – this has plenty of mouthfeel but stays silky and lighter; you just don’t like Gamay from Beaujolais – this is the essence of that.
