Organic/Bio Lower ABV Wow, is this ever good, especially coming from the hills up above the Cotes de Beaune. From a small vineyard with cool clay soils, Jerome and Elizabeth Billard captured brilliant ripeness in the form of sweet raspberry and juicy red cherry fruit and wonderfully supple, dusty, tannins. A hint of sweet tobacco/min, a jolt of orange peel oil and dine minerality and tannins give this remarkable sustain and length at the price point. Ready now and drinking well for 5+ years.
For You If: You love Burgundy Pinot Noir or even Willamette Valley Pinot from Marine sedimentary sites; you’d enjoy a touch of overt, sweet, fruit with classic Burgundy notes of tobacco, earth and rocks.
Not For You If: You’re looking for the body/texture California delivers; you want mostly earthy flavors – this leads with the ripe fruit.
