The wine is made from Malvasia Fina and Verdellho and aged around 3 years on wood. It tastes like really good white Port, with some citrus fruit bite and lots of nutty and dried caramel complexity before finishing crisp and clean. It’s entire reason for existence is for the winemakers at this very fine Port house to be able to drink really good Port tonics all summer long – port over ice with a splash of tonic, lemon and a sprig of mint. Try it.
For You If: You want to enjoy/try a Port Tonic (and, believe us, you do) on a hot, sunny, afternoon as the sun sinks slowly towards the horizon and the smell of dinner grilling gets your juices going.
Not For You If: You’re after the flavors, textures and aromas of Port wines made with red grapes; you want something to age – this is ready; you can’t stand any sweetness in your cocktails.
