Powerful, rich, mouthwatering and delicious Sancerre from vines planted in 1936 and wine aged 12 months in old French oak. As Suckling says in the 93 point review, “A well-rounded, precise, succulent and minerally white with notes of stone fruit, white flowers, stones and gunpowder. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. Lively and fine-tuned with a viivd core of crunchy fruit and a mineral dominance toward the long finish." This will go 15 years in cellar, too.
For You If: You're looking for the minerality and complexity of white Burgundy but with Sauvignon Blanc's citrus base; you'd like a Sancerre you can at least pretend you're going to cellar - although bet you can't actually hold off on drinking this now!
Not for You If: You're looking for razor-sharp edges and lots of bite - this has plenty of vibrant, refreshing, cut but is overall richer and more dense than most Sancerre.
