Lower ABV Luis Seabra creates terrior-driven and very fresh wines in the Port country of the Douro Valley. Here he’s working with four vineyards of schist soils and a blend of 60% Rabigato, 15% Gouveio, 15% Códega and 10% Viosinho. Remarkable roundness here at just 12.5% alcohol with complex flavors of stone fruit, apples, Bosc pear and loads of crushed rock minerality. There’s enough acidity for freshness here, but nothing sharp or hard through the lovely finish. A great seafood, roasted poultry and sipping companion.
For You If: You like your whites to be about more than just fruit and, especially, enjoy a noticable stony/chalky/salty note and a mouthwatering finish.
Not For You If: You're after something with big fruit or a wine that feels lean and nervy - this is remarkably generous at just 12.5% alcohol.
