Lower ABV One of the great white wines of Italy soars to its customary heights again. Really floods the senses with flavors while staying fresh and light at 12.5% alcohol. As Wine Enthusiast says in the 96 point rave, “The wine is 3D in the glass with vertical and horizontal flavors filling the mouth while fresh acidity lifts the palate.” Hard not to just drink, but also one of the most versatile food wines in the world now and for a decade to come. Brilliant.
For You If: Frankly, you love great wine and are open to one of huge flavor and complexity with no oak to muddle things up.
Not For You If: If you absolutely insist on the assertive fruit flavors of Sauvignon Blanc or the oaky spice of barrel aged whites, then there’s a slight chance you might not love this – but, really, the wine is great.
“The first single-vineyard created here, in the late 18th century. More black soil than in the Soave Classico. This is very good, meshing the inherent ripeness of the vintage with a mineral-infused pungency. Green apples, quince and stone fruit. Yet the feel is linear, cool and taut, with a growing trajectory of fruit sweetness across the long, energetic finish. A pithy exclamation to close.”
