If you find yourself thinking, "Hmm - this tastes like Napa with a bit of French flair!," there's a reason for that. Diana Snowden grew up in a Napa winemaking family, destined to take the reins someday. But then she met and married Jeremy Seysses of Burgundy's Domaine Dujac. So now she lives mainly in Burgundy and shuttles back and forth to make wine for Dujac and her family's estate in Napa. An utterly lovely Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, very pure (but not lacking power!) and elegant with super-smooth tannins providing excellent grip and definition. Really drinkable right now although you can certainly cellar for 15 years if you want to. Highly recommended.
"Ripe and direct, with friendly mulled plum and linzer torte laced with sassafras and cedar. Open-knit through the toasty finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2030. 956 cases made."
"Snowden's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch boasts aromas of cedar and cherries, plus delicate thyme and sage notes. It's medium to full-bodied, plush and easy to drink, smooth and supple across the palate and silky on the finish."
"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is elegant and nuanced, with the transparency that is typical of many of the 2019s here. This is a decidedly old-school leaning Cabernet that leans towards the more delicate end of the spectrum."
