Organic/Bio Lower ABV This high-altitude, volcanic soil, Eola Hills vineyard is fast developing into one of the most exciting sites in the Valley. Walter Scott delivers their typical Burgundian take on Oregon Pinot here, emphasizing the minerality and structure with fruit still fresh, pure and nicely intense. This wants some time in glass or cellar, but it’s pretty breathtaking. As Wine Advocate says in the 95 point rave, “opens slowly on the nose and, with air, reveals pure scents of pomegranate, rhubarb, cinnamon stick, tangerine peel and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated fruit and abundant, powdery tannins that give this wine a sense of power. It's balanced by juicy acidity, and it has a long finish laced with fruit, flowers and spice.”
For You If: You like to feel Pinot minerality and structure while enjoying Oregon’s pure, intense, fruit.
Not For You If: You’re looking for velvety or soft – this has a pretty brilliant firmness to it that just adds to the joy of drinking it.
