One of the best parts about the beginning of the year is all the new arrivals coming into the shop. On Friday, the CBC team will share our featured wines and two exciting wines that have just taken up their spot on the shelves. Come explore with us from 3-7pm on Friday to sample:
Fontanavecchia Coda di Volpe Sannio 2023 - “Italian Albarino” was our first thought on tasting this very modern, salty, minerally, version of a very ancient Italian white grape. Zesty and fun.
Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2024 – Another great vintage for one of Marlborough’s most drinkable and awarded Sauvignon Blancs! Plenty of fruit and flavor here.
Birichino Pinot Noir Central Coast Saint Georges 2023 – Old vines, minimalist winemaking, and a great site in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains explain the quality here. The low price is a bit of a mystery, but a happy one!
Dom Florane Cotes du Rhone Visan A Fleur 2022 – From the Cotes du Rhone village of Visan, this has a nice inky black fruit character in a juicy, easy drinking, style.
Fontanavecchia Aglianico Taburno 2019 – All the flavor and richness you’d hope for from the grape known as “the Barolo of the South” but with more plushness and rich fruit. Great cookout, stew and roasted meat companion here.
We’ll have a treat or two from the cheese case out to enjoy with the wines as you kick off your 2025 wine exploration with us. |
