Organic/Bio The "younger vines" at Bethel Heights are now 20+ years-old and really found their voice in the long, not at all hot, 2022 vintage. This is a beautifully savory expression of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir although there's still plenty of fruit. As Vinous says in the 94 point review, "The 2022 Pinot Noir Aeolian is darkly floral, as a mix of dried violets, lavender and incense forms an enticing bouquet. This is soothingly round and supple, showing a lick of salty minerality up front that perfectly offsets its ripe wild berry fruits. The 2022 leaves the palate stained in primary concentration, with a bitter blackberry tinge and edgy tannins that make for a lovely punctuation to the experience."
For You If: You're a fan of Pinot that delivers fruit and more than fruit; you like your Pinot on the darker side without any marked oaky notes; you want to drink now and, maybe, hold some for later.
Not For You If: You're after oodles of raspberry/strawberry/red berry fruit - this is darker-tinged than that.
