Organic/Bio A bold, gutsy, Spanish red for Cotes du Rhone fans with plenty of rich fruit and a gentle earthy/wild herb edge. It’s 60% Monastrell and 40% Tempranillo aged in oak that adds roundness but not oaky flavors. Delivers a big mouthful of juicy purple and black fruit that stays fresh through the lifted finish. As Wine Enthusiast said in their 90 point review, “Has a nose of purple plum, Mission fig and dried thyme. A sheath of velvet tannins is wrapped around black cherry, black currant, coffee bean, dark chocolate and olive paste flavors. A hint of dried Mediterranean herbs appears on the closing note.”
For You If: You enjoy Monastrell from the south of Spain or earthy/juicy and all-purpose Cotes du Rhone reds; you're looking for something with loads of flavor and the guts to handle meat off the grill that finishes smooth and easy.
Not For You If: You're after the big burst of oak that so many Spanish wines deliver - here the oak shapes the wine but doesn't really flavor it.
