Organic/Bio In the small, intense, 2019 vintage, this barrel-aged blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and a splash of Pinot Noir spent 54 months on the lees before disgorgement in early March, 2023 and finishing at 1.8 g/l dosage. Antonio Galloni describes it well in his 92 point review, “The 2019 Extra Brut Les Leriens is a blend of 45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, all co-planted. It offers terrific energy and cut to match its lithe, slender personality. Sage, mint, chalk, white pepper and dried flowers cut through a core of steely, citrus-driven fruit. I very much admire the energy in the glass.”
For You If: You want to drink zippy, bone dry, Champagne that is focused and full of flavor and character; you'd like to get to know the next rising star of Champagne before everyone catches on!
Not For You If: You're looking for broad, generous, Champagne - this isn't austere but does have a lot of cut and vibrancy.
