Available for Pick-Up March 12! For March we’re exploring blanc de blancs wines – made from 100% Chardonnay - and dosage – the sugar/wine mixture added at the very end of Champagne production to balance the wine’s acidity.
The Mesnil-based Pierre Moncuit Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Delos Brut shows the richness of Mensil-sur-Oger that stays creamy and deep with just 3 grams per liter dosage. Pretty much the essence of Cote de Blancs Chardonnay.
Antoine Chevalier works in slightly more obscure circumstances - in a region between the Marne and Aube called Coteaux Vitryats that even dedicated Champagne scholars would struggle to find on a map. His Tecta Silva Blanc de Blancs 2019 is from a tiny parcel near an old limestone quarry and shows smoky complexity and perfect balance with no dosage at all. And, with only 190 cases made, well worth grabbing while you can.
The regular price of these two wines together is $179.98, but you can take them home this month for just $161.98 along with our March Champagne news letter with all the details on each producer and wine.
