Winemaker Morgan Lee calls his value line “City Limits” to reflect his deep connection to both Washington vines in the east and his urban community and winery near Seattle. This is a juicy fun realization of that, blending 85% Merlot with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon to give a plump, dark, wine with a free and easy juicy feel. Great wine for a burger or beef tenderloin. As Wine Enthusiast says in the 90 point review, “The Detour's raspberry and strawberry aromas dominate, with pine wood and chalkboard dust notes hovering around the edges. A blackberry scone and dark chocolate flavor combination is a winning one.”
For You If: You’re after a delicious American red blend that pumps out lots of flavor while staying appetizingly dry; you enjoy a touch of cigar box spice with your rich, ripe, fruit.
Not For You If: You’re after something hugely dense or austerely grippy – this is perfect at medium-body weight and finishes with just enough grip to make your mouth water.
