This blend of white Grenache, Clairette, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Picpoul and Bourboulenc gets its character from very Chateuaneuf du Pape-like soils and a touch of barrel aging as well. It's brilliant, as Jeb Dunnuck says in the 94 point review, "Juicy white peach, minty herbs, orange blossom, and spice notes all shine in the 2023 Lirac Cuvée De La Reine Des Bois Blanc, a beautifully balanced, elegant, layered white. It would easily compete with any number of top Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc."
For You If: You're looking for a white with a lot of weight and richness that stays fresh and precise and doesn't show a lot of wood aromas/flavors; you're eating rich shellfish or Comte cheese - this is a brilliant match!
Not For You If: You're in the mood for something light, fresh and crisp - this is full-bodied and rich while staying wonderfully dry and appetizing.
